About Gaisce

Gaisce is a non-competitive, self-directed programme which encourages students to develop their talents, contribute to their community and achieve personal growth while earning recognition for their achievements. This programme is a challenge set by the President of Ireland. Students are asked to set goals and in engage in activities in the areas of:

• 1. Personal Skill (first-aid, baking/cooking, photography, CV writing)
• 2. Physical Recreation (swimming, team sport, gym)
• 3. Community Involvement (helping younger kids in a school or club, community campaigns)
• 4. Adventure Journey (overnight expeditions/ explorations)

Gaisce’s Core Values

Award Levels

Participating students work towards achieving their goals in each area over a specified time period which runs from 13 to 52 weeks depending on the award level that they are working towards.
