Facilities

Nano Nagle College stands on a large, well-developed site situated in Farranree, Cork City.  The school facilities comprise a three-story building housing general purpose classrooms, specialist classrooms, a gym, library, cookery kitchen and science laboratories.  In recent years, significant investment has begun on further developing Nano Nagle College.

Science

Two new state-of-the-art science laboratories were completed in 2019, comprising one biology laboratory and one chemistry laboratory.

Canteen

2020 saw the installation of a new HSE-certified canteen, operated by School Food Company, complimented by the new outdoor seating and eating area. A retractable outdoor awning was installed in 2022 to further expand the outdoor dining area and allow its use all year round.

Breakfast is cooked on site and there is no charge for students. An extensive menu is provided during the day and the cost is heavily subsidised. The canteen has been inspected and is certified by the Health Service Executive.  Students and staff avail of the service.  The School Food Company have been awarded a commendation by the Irish Heart Foundation for the quality of their food.  Students may also bring their own food but please note: there is a Health Eating Policy and high sugar and salt content foods and drinks are not allowed.  (See our policies for more information.)

Walkway & Gymnasium

To complement this, Slí Nano Nagle walkway around the newly reclaimed pitch area was developed, to allow students to enjoy the benefits of fresh air during their breaks.

The gymnasium underwent extensive refurbishment in 2022, gaining a new roof and upgraded heating system.

Autism Class Suite

2024 will see further significant investment in the site, with a newly refurbished autism class suite, comprising of 3 homerooms, a sensory room, multipurpose room and auxiliary rooms.

Toilets

With the move to co-educational status the toilet blocks will be refurbished.

Technology

The school will also gain investment in T4 subjects and associated specialist rooms including Graphics, Wood Technology and Engineering.  This is scheduled to take place in Summer 2024.
